Dawn Sanderson MA CCC/SLP
I have lived in the Asheville area since early 2000. I have had the great joy of providing speech therapy since moving to these beautiful mountains. I obtained my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Communication Disorders from Appalachian State University. I have experience providing services in a variety of settings, including a year-round elementary school, private practice, inpatient hospital, tele-practice, and a pediatric clinic. I have extensive experience in providing augmentative and alternative communication to meet the specific needs for all individuals and know the process of paperwork, programming, and training. I have worked with the Buncombe County School professionals in regards to referrals, AAC purchases, training, and collaboration for over 25 years. I enjoy working with people of all ages and continue to find joy in being called Ms. Dawn, receiving hugs, high fives, helping clients succeed in their individual life choices, watching my clients grow, educating families, and helping everyone achieve their goals. I take great pride in working with my clients and families to provide the best practices to support their success and provide quality of life. I am passionate about giving back to our community and am currently fostering for Brother Wolf Animal Rescue, and working towards obtaining a therapy dog certification for my new puppy, as well as establishing a non-profit resource for individuals with autism and connecting them with animals.
